CATHY HOLBROOK
Founding Artistic Director & Owner of The Purple Box Theater
Cathy's career as a Professional Director & Producer spans over 35 years. She has recently returned to Texas from California where for the past 12 years she has produced & directed professional and novice actors in numerous original and published stage plays in North Hollywood Theaters. She has received several accolades and favorable reviews from the Hollywood community. She has also worked on Hollywood's Christian Film Project 168 and studied acting techniques based on the Meisner and Stanislasky Methods. While in California Cathy also developed many drama ministry programs for local churches in the Southern Los Angeles area. Cathy is also the founder and producer of First Light Players, a non profit Christian Community Theater organization dedicated to create new works that explore inspirational live stage productions that make audiences think, feel, laugh and cry leaving them with an experience that awakens them.
In 1985 Cathy created the Young Theater and Performing Stars of Texas- a youth stage and performing arts school in the Friendswood-Pearland area-where she produced and directed numerous stage plays and musicals annually including "Annie", "Grease", "Oliver", Bye Bye Birdie", "Oklahoma", "South Pacific","Cinderella","Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs", "Little Shop of Horrors","Back to the Beach", "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown", "Little Women" & "Wizard of Oz" , along with monthly performances at various festivals, conventions, and Houston area community events, such as The Houston Freedom Festival, the 1992 Republican National Convention , The State of Maine Republican Delegates Dinner, NASA Employees Annual Family Picnic, Houston International Festival, Friendswood's 4th of July program, Friendswood's Christmas parade and tree lighting, Dickens on the Strand in Galveston, Pasadena's Strawberry Festival, Pasadena's Rodeo, the Bluebonnet Festival in Brenham, Old Town Spring Musical and Heritage Festivals, Rockets half time shows, and annual appearances at major theme parks across the U.S. including Disneyworld Florida, Seaworld, Texas & Florida, Nashville's Opryland, Splashtown USA, Astroworld, and on Premier's Big Red Boat Cruise Ship to the Bahamas.
Recently her Broadway Kids have performed at DISNEYWORLD (2013, 2015, 2018), DISNEYLAND (2014, 2016), UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD (2014), UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ORLANDO (2018)The NEW AMSTERDAM THEATER, NYC (2015), KAUFMAN MUSIC CENTER, NYC (2016), SIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS (2014,2015,2016, 2017, 2018)
Many of Cathy's students have worked professionally in Stage, Television, Film, Music and Commercials as kids and as adults.
MEAGAN ALLEN

Meagan has taught children, ages 4-5, at a top private preschool for eight years. In that time she implemented music and theatrical lessons and activities through out the curriculum, including an annual Christmas play that she wrote, directs and produces. She has been active in the community theater circuit, having many leading roles such as Winifred in Once Upon a Mattress, Lucy in You're a good man Charlie Brown, Lucy in Dracula, Josefa in A Shot in the Dark. As well as many chorus/villager/towns person/brunette female #2 roles. Her specialties are musical theater, comedic acting and improvisational games, with children.

T'Mar has been involved with musical theater since the 6th grade. She is a student at the University of Houston where she is studying musical theate, music and majoring in education. She is also a member of their Acapella Choir.
She has taken dance classes in NYC at the Broadway Dance Center and usical Theater Workshops with Broadway Bound and Class Act Ny in NYC.

Sydney graduated from Alvin High School where she was a proud member of the Alvin Jacketeers, serving as Social Chairman in her Senior year. Sydney started her performing arts career at the age of 9 when she joined Purple Box Theater. She has been in numerous youth, Teen and Adult shows & Musicals. She has performed at Disney World, DisneyLand, Universal Studios and in New York City at the New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway and the Kauffman Performing ARts Center.
Sydney has studied at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC and taken numerous professional master classes and workshops with Disney in FLorida and California and Broadway Bound and Class Act Ny in NYC

enna has danced her entire life, trained with the SE Texas Ballet Company and the infamous Debbie Allen; has extensive experience in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, lyrical, hip hop and Broadway style dances. In addition to dance she has been involved in numerous theater plays and musicals. She has taught dance for many years and is experienced in Martial Arts. She has adorable little girls that I'm sure we will start seeing around the theater. Most of all she has an infectious smile and loads of positive energy!

Lorie has a Bachelor of Art Theater Degree from the University of Houston. She has taught Dance and theater for several years in the Galveston area. She is also a substitute teacher for CCISD.
ALEC WHITE
IMPROV DIRECTOR
Alec has experience in Stage Acting, Musical Theater, Film Acting, Improv, Stand up Comedy, Film directing, Stage directing, working with kids of all ages, working with kids with disabilities, film editing and script writing. He has his own Improv troupe that performs in Houston. Alec is a student at University of Houston working towards a B.A. in Media Production. He has also been seen in a couple of Purple Box Players productions.
